Olivia Dean is closing in on one of the biggest records in UK chart history as Rein Me In continues its long run at No. 1.
The latest chart announcement confirmed that the song, recorded with Sam Fender, has now spent 16 nonconsecutive weeks at the top. That makes it the longest-running UK No. 1 by a British act, moving past the 15-week total achieved by Love Is All Around in 1994.
Rein Me In originally appeared on Fender’s album People Watching before a duet version featuring Dean gained wider attention. The track took 35 weeks inside the Top 40 before reaching No. 1, setting another record for the longest climb to the summit.
Only two songs have spent as much or more time at No. 1 in UK chart history. Bryan Adams reached 16 weeks with Everything I Do, while Frankie Laine’s I Believe holds the overall record with 18 weeks.
Dean’s latest milestone adds to a strong period that has included successful singles, a chart-topping album and several major music awards.
