Bonnie Tyler’s family has confirmed plans for a public farewell that will allow fans to pay their respects before a private family service.
In an announcement outlining the arrangements, the family said Tyler’s coffin will be taken through Mumbles before a celebration of her life is held at Swansea Minster. The events are intended to give members of the public a chance to honor the Welsh singer and reflect on her long career.
After the public service, Tyler will make a final journey to her hometown of Skewen. A private ceremony will then take place for relatives and close friends.
The family has asked people not to send flowers. Instead, supporters are being encouraged to make donations to charities that were important to Tyler during her life.
Best known for songs including Total Eclipse of the Heart and Holding Out for a Hero, Tyler built a career that lasted for decades. Her distinctive voice made her one of Wales’ most recognizable performers, and her music reached audiences around the world.
