Early in the event, singer-songwriter Regina Spektor performed a rendition of the Mister Rogers theme song Won’t You Be My Neighbor. The performance opened the ceremony with a tribute to the long-running children’s program and its message of kindness.
According to the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, the awards recognize work created specifically for children and family audiences across multiple formats. Productions released on broadcast networks and streaming platforms were honored in categories covering acting, directing, writing, music, and animation.
Several recent titles appeared among the winners. Percy Jackson and the Olympians earned recognition among live-action programs, while films including The Velveteen Rabbit and Orion and the Dark were also acknowledged during the ceremony.
